So excited about this! A fabulous bride whose wedding I performed at wrote me an A+ review on The Knot! She wrote:
MUSICIANS- Ariana Straznicky: A+
Ariana was our violinist for the ceremony. We also had a cellist (a friend of hers). They played beautifully. I met with her before the wedding to choose songs. We met in a music room at UHART so she could play all of the songs for me. She can play anything. She has a huge repertoire of music she already has, but she can also get music for any song you want. I wanted to walk down the aisle to "So This Is Love" from Cinderella. She got the music a couple of weeks before the wedding, and played it perfectly that day.

I will be teaching Suzuki and Traditional violin lessons at Audubon Street in New Haven as well as the NMS Guilford branch. Register for the Fall today! Check out www.neighborhoodmusicschool.org
Arranged for solo violin, here is the melody from one of my favorite pieces to play for wedding ceremonies: "Wedding March" from A Midsummer Night's Dream by Felix Mendelssohn. This piece is timeless and is great for the recessional to any wedding ceremony.
Here's Mouret's "Rondeau", a perfect piece to play during wedding ceremonies. It's so upbeat and can be performed during the processional, recessional, or just as guests arrive to set a joyful atmosphere.
Ariana is officially on iTunes! Check out her string quartet performing Asylum Cafeteria at Hartt's first ever SPASM Concert here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/asylum-cafeteria-feat-ariana/id421177560?i=421177585
I performed at the first ever Hartt SPASM Concert. SPASM, also known as Society for the Promotion of American Silly Music, made quite a stir. Check out the concert review here and give a listen to my performances in, "Asylum Cafeteria," by Andrew Pergiovanni and "Two Cautionary Tales: Jim" by Steven Snowden.
"Asylum Cafeteria", composed by Andrew Pergiovanni, is musical poetry depicting a patient's violent rant in an insane asylum. At the end of the piece, you can hear his ramblings quite down into mumblings after he's been given a tranquilizer. Pretty wild stuff! Enjoy the ride!
Steven Snowden's "Two Cautionary Tales: Jim, who ran away from his nurse and was eaten by a lion," was just that! The text was taken from Hilaire Belloc's tales for children. For more information about Steven Snowden and his fantastic works, check out www.stevensnowden.com.
